Summer is a great time to go for a ride. I’m not saying that you should put your child in the car and go for a ride though. Instead I’m suggesting you get him his own car to play in. There are so many fun outdoor toys for kids to play with, and a favorite one of Nick’s is his Tikes Mobile made by Little Tikes.
Nick got his car as a birthday present from his Nana. He loved it right from the start. As soon as he got into the car he started driving. He grabbed the wheel and just started turning it. We were amazed that he would know how to do that when he had never even watched us drive a car before. For the first few days we let Nick ride around in his car in the house (since it was brand new) due to the fact that it was pretty cold outside. Now the car is outside, but Nick still has as much fun in it as he did when he first got it. He rides in it just about every day at some point. One nice thing about it is that it sits quite low, so he can sit in it and yet still play with the weeds that he loves so much. This makes riding in it such a different experience for him than riding in one of the strollers. Letting Nick go outside and ride around in his car after bath is actually what we did to help Nick stop taking the bottle.
The Tikes Mobile is fantastic. It has a handle bar that makes pushing it very easy. I wasn’t sure how easy it would be it steer, but it isn’t hard at all. The handle also folds flat which makes for easy storage and for putting it into mom or dad’s car to take it somewhere. The steering wheel turns and there is a horn that beeps (although it is hard for a little one to push and actually get sound out of it). There is even a storage compartment in the front and mom and child cup holders. Overall it is a very nice riding toy. Step2 also makes a push car that is slightly different, but very much the same as the Little Tikes one. We were originally going to buy the Step 2 one (I went with my mom to make the purchase), but both were on sale and the Little Tikes one was slightly cheaper . I’d say one is just as good as the other though.

Grandpa likes the car a lot. He is always putting Nick in it.
