Fun In The Sun

by on June 15, 2012

I love Summer.  Sunny Fall days when the leaves are at their peak can be very pretty, but I’m not a fan of the chill.  Spring days are a nice warm-up from Winter, and I do love the flowers, but it’s still too cold and rainy for me.  Winter, well, I just plain don’t like that season.  Summer to me is perfect though.  You won’t often hear me complain about a heat wave.  I’d much rather be sweltering in the Summer than freezing cold in the Winter.  People always say you can put extra layers on, but that’s never enough for me.  Once the cold gets into my bones it is very hard to get rid of.

As of today all of the schools in our area are on Summer vacation, and that means I am too!  Sure I still work at the Golf Course in the Summer, but it’s only a few days a week.  That means I still get more time at home with Nick than during the school year, so I still consider myself on Summer vacation.  The last month or so of balancing both jobs has been exhausting, not to mention all of the changes and and new things that have been going on with Nick, so I am very ready for some relaxation and more sleep (yeah, I know…in my dreams!).

In honor of my favorite season I have decided to write different posts focusing on activities and other information that pertain to Summer.  It’s the perfect time of year to get out and do stuff, and yet within days of the kids being out of school you’ll hear the words, “I’m bored.”  Even my one year old, although he can’t say the words, is constantly board.  It never ceases to amaze me how quickly kids can get tired of playing with their toys.

If you have any ideas that you think would be good for me to cover let me know!  This is only my second Summer as a mom, so I still have a lot to learn.  Feel free to leave a comment about it here, or you can post an idea on our Facebook Fan Page.  I hope these posts help you get the most out of your Summer.  Get ready for some fun in the sun!  Look for the first official post next Friday!

How about a sandbox for a little boy, so he can play trucks in the sand.
