Snacking foods…where would be without the yummy snacks that we can munch and crunch? For a long time now Nick has been a huge fan of snack foods. Especially his “chippies”. When you have a child that’s crazy skinny you really don’t have issues with giving them a lot of snack foods. Honestly this kid can’t keep his pants up! Although it is adorable when he says, “Oh no pants,” and looks down to let you know his pants have fallen down. Still I’m a typical parent and I don’t want to just let him eat a bunch of junk, so I like to find better choices for him to eat. You can imagine how excited I was then to try some of the new Green Giant Veggie Snack flavors. Chips made from vegetables? Bring them on!
Before getting the Veggie Snacks to review we had never tried them. I had heard a little about them and had seen some advertising, and I had liked the sound of them, but I just hadn’t purchased any. I usually buy a big box with a variety of different chip bags for Jason to take to work, and then sometimes I’ll open a bag for Nick to eat. I must say I’m glad I got a chance to try them though because they were really yummy, and I love that they are made from vegetables. To me it seemed that the veggies gave the chips a bit of a thicker quality that I really liked. I must say that I wasn’t 100% sure Nick would like them. Since he mostly has only had plain flavored chips I wasn’t sure what he would think of the flavored chips (we tried the new Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip – Garden Ranch and Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip – Barbecue). I needn’t have worried though because he loved both of them. I can’t tell you how many times he asked for, “more chippies?” He just couldn’t get enough.
One thing I really liked about the Green Giant Veggie Snacks was that they were a really good compliment to the other foods we were eating. For lunch I often eat a chicken wrap with ranch dressing. I bet you can imagine how good the Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip – Garden Ranch chips were with that. For the Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip – Barbecue ones we had them with hot dogs. Oh my were they yummy. Of course can you really go wrong with anything made from a sweet potato?
I am so glad that we tried the Green Giant Veggie Snacks. They both tasted great, and I felt that they were a really good option for Nick’s chippies. Now I really want to try some of the other flavors the offer!
