We went up to the burger and sandwich stands by the pool for lunch again. We had been right in thinking that Nick was hungry because he wolfed down a ton of food. When everyone was finishing their lunches we came up with a plan of action. We were all going to go back to our rooms after lunch to get everything we needed to get off the ship. I also wanted to take Nick’s Epi-pens out of my bag and put them in the safe. The last thing I needed to take off the ship, and bring back on, were medicated needles.
When everyone was ready we headed down to disembark from the ship. Cruise ships don’t dock at Grand Cayman so we had to tender to shore. We had purposely waited until after lunch to get off the ship so that we wouldn’t have to wait in a long line to tender. We were lucky and one of the boats was waiting for passengers right when we arrived. We found places to sit . I was able to put Nick’s stroller facing out so that he could see what was going on. Almost as soon as we had sat down the boat left to take us to Grand Cayman.
The boat dropped us off in the heart of it all. We got off and we’re able to walk to all of the shops. Our first stop was the Del-Sole store. This is a must stop location every time we cruise. They have shirts that gain color when exposed to sunlight. Of course after many many washings they don’t work so well, so we always need to get new ones. One thing I love is that if you buy so much product (I think it’s two shirts) they give you a free canvas bag that changes color too. The bags are really big and strong. They have made fantastic grocery shopping bags! This was the first time we had been to a Del-Sole store since before Nick was born, and I’m afraid we got a little too excited buying him shirts.
With that stop done we didn’t have any other must stops on our list, so we just wandered farther down the road. We ended up running into a Hard Rock Cafe, so we went inside to look at the store. That’s when mom remembered that she needed to get my brother a shot glass (he collects them), so she decided to get his Grand Cayman one there. After that we really had no where left to go, and it was getting close to nap time, so we headed back to the boats.
When we reached the tendering location to get back to the Fantasy there were Cast Member waiting with cold washcloths to clean our hands and cool off with. I must say we had gotten a bit warm walking around in the sun. A welcome thing when it was cool Fall back home. We lucky didn’t have long to wait for our boat to head back to the ship. Nick had a hard time staying awake though, so we did everything we could to keep him from falling asleep.
We managed to keep Nick awake, but just barely. Needless to say he didn’t fight his nap too much that day. I put him down and then Jason and I sat on the bed reading while we waited for Nick to pass out. Once I was sure he was asleep I left to go down to Mom’s room. Then Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, and I all went upstairs for our coffee break. Jason hadn’t wanted any that afternoon, so we had our coffee in the coffee shop. It was so nice and relaxing. Once we had all finished we headed back downstairs. Nick was still asleep when I got to the room so I sat on the bed and read some more. Eventually it was time to get ready for dinner.
