Silly Saturday – Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy

It’s time for my new weekly Silly Saturday post about the funny things Nick did during the week.  This post is part of a link up with other moms over at The Mommyhood Chronicles.

It has been quite a week in our house.  I thought it would be a nice and relaxed week.  We didn’t have anywhere to go, nothing specific to do, and Nick had lots of new toys to keep him occupied.  Well the joke was on me because Nick was crazy fussy and clingy this week.  It was so hard to get anything done!  Luckily though he seems to be getting a bit better and now he’s playing with all of those new toys (thank goodness!).

One of Nick’s new things for the week is that he started to love bouncing.  Now I don’t mean he stands around and jumps up and down on his own.  Oh no, that would be too easy!  No he wants to get up onto the bed and the chairs and have us lift him up and down.  Can I just say that my arms are killing me!  For my daily workouts I’m only up to 2 pound dumbbells, so a 20 some pound baby is a heavy weight!  I don’t even know how the whole bouncy thing started, but I can’t say I’m a fan of it.  I’d like to blame his new Bouncing Tigger (which he loves), but he dances with him instead of bouncing.  I’m at the point that I can’t hardly handle doing it anymore.  It has gotten him to say the word bouncy which is very cute, so I’ll only bounce him if he tells me what he wants.  I still don’t like it though!

His desire to bounce has caused Nick to want to climb up onto every chair in the house!  Every time I turn around it seems that I find him at a chair trying to lift his leg onto it (he hasn’t figured out how to climb up on his own yet).  Yesterday he really cracked me up though because he had to climb up onto what my family has dubbed the bad boy chair (pictured above).  This is what we plan to use as our future time out location although, fingers crossed, we hopefully won’t use it much for that purpose.  Maybe things will be easy for me if he’s already putting himself in time out!

How was your week?

What an awesome age. It is amazing what entertains our children when they are young. Great chair and I will cross my fingers that you don’t have to use it very often for discplining.

I’ve been trying to do chest presses with my 10 month old – it’s painful! Who says you need a gym membership for a workout!
